I ran through a big puddle now my lowbeams and fogs dont work

I ran through a big puddle now my low beams and fogs dont work. when i first ran through the puddle my radio cut out. i still had power, cd kept playing but there was no sound. this came back on about 15 min later. my fogs and lowbeams still arent working. my high beams work fine though. i do have r34 type headlights and have done the fog light rewire also. any suggestions on what could cause my low beams and fogs not to work but my high beams still work? maybe it will be fine once everything has a chance to dry out.

Have you checked anything yet? Or did you just post here first?

give it time to dry, dont turn anything on til it is, otherwise you risk oxidation

i have checked my fuses and wiring. everything seems fine. i did go and start my car about 5 min ago and they still werent working. funny thing is my radio quits working when i rev the motor. battery and brake light also come on when i rev. its kinda hard to check thoroughly cause its still raining pretty hard out.

ok i had to replace both 9006 bulbs and i am assuming thats the problem with the fogs also. must have shorted them out. i am still having problems with my radio though. it works when im at idle but as soon as i give it gas and the rpms raise my battery and brake light in the cluster illuminate. could this be due to a wet alternator?

Have the alt load tested. It could've been damaged.

Just how deep was this damn puddle?

That's what I was thinking when he mentioned the alternator. It doesn't sit THAT low in the engine bay.

it was about a foot deep. memphis streets dont drain well so there are big puddles everywhere when it rains. i was doing about 45 or so when i hit it. the alternator isnt that low in the engine bay but i will get it load tested any ways just for good measure.

you could have still had the CAI.. just buy you one of those little AEM AIR BYPASS VALVE thingy's that prevents your engine going into hydrolock, in the event of your car getting into a HUGE puddle and you can find more information regarding that HERE
