Bought a New Max and Took Down the Track

http://www.dragtimes.com/Nissan-Maxi...lip-18783.html

Unfortunately I did not get this run, which was the best of the day, on video. Now, I have to make it faster. 15.2 is slower than the 14.8 my Armada ran the first time down the track.

It's too hot to get any decent times...
You'll do much better in the fall.

That's true my buddy with an SC'd 07 Mustang GT could not get out of the 13's to save his life that day... I will hopefully be able to do at least an intake and an exhaust and come back in the fall.

I know the weather is hot but is it normal for a 6th gen to run that slow?

I was actually surprised that I got the 15.2 I was expecting slower. I initially hated the 6th gens because they are so big and not much more power than the 5.5's, but we needed something to replace my 2002 I30 which had 185K and we had since 2003. After looking at the G35, BMW 3 series, and Cadillac CTS, I came back to the Max. You can't beat the overall value and performance and it fits my whole family (can sit my 6'2" stepson in the backseat along with my other two sons) and is still pretty fast.

Anyway as you will see here I got slower and slower as the evening went on. Here's me losing to a twin turbo diesel excursion that was also running unusually slow for the day but killed me off the line everytime with high RPM launches and 4x4:

Stock wheels for SL and tires are Ventus HR2 (never heard of them but they were already on the car and have a lot of tread still...).

Improve your 60' time and your times will fall considerably. Do you know what your density altitude was?

You should of kept the I30 lol my 95 4th gen has 300k and still counting, original engine and tranny. Maxima's seem to live for a really long time.
