98 max needs new struts

I don't know anything about suspension, but I've had some suspension noise problems while turning...replaced all the bushings about a month ago..and the noise went away.

Now, within the last two days, I've gotten out of the car and have felt lower to the ground...really strange. I bounce the car around and it makes a noise from the front driver side.

I am now planning on replacing the front struts...(they're really old)....and will go ahead and replace the rears as well.

So my questions:

Do I need to replace the springs as well? (I don't want it lowered or anything)

and, I'd rather just buy stock struts, but I don't mind forking over a little extra cash for something that will last a little longer? any opinions? I have a three day weekend after a busy work week coming up...plan on doing it all then.

thanks!

leave the springs alone. Where are you going to get stock struts though? Dealer? I don't think so. Thinking about the Monroe stuff they sell at auto parts stores? I don't think so. Some cheap tokico or something from ebay is ur only choice...

You may want to check out KYB GR2's for the stock springs. They are just slightly firmer than stock.
