Jumpy click from (P to R) also from (in-gear cruising and neutral)

Hi
Maxi 97 A/T 170K miles(purchased 3 months ago....unknown maintenance history)....

Doesn't matter whether hot or cold car...Most observed from P to R in high idle speed (before engine warms completely ~1000rpm)...even the car lowers down like a camel..........

Any info appreciated .......May be engine mounts ?

i'm having the same problem. could be engine mounts. because my dad said mine are shot..

but of course, i drive like an idiot anyway..... i slap shift the automatic... at the Red light, i'm in "D", then i shift to second after 1rst gear is out the way, then drive in second until 3,500k rpm. then back to D.... so that is why i never come on here with my engine problems. I want a 5 speed so bad.. if you aint got a 5 speed. drive an auto like it is one. xD but seriously, i too think it is the engine mounts.

You never clearly stated your problem (what you did state is nigh incomprehensible, but that's a different matter).

What the hell does 'jumpy click' mean? You mean you hear a thud of some sort when you put it in gear?

You suspect the mounts, but have you not checked them out at all?
