No Power to 96 Headunits
No Power to 96 Headunits
when i bought my car the headunit didnt work. he said it worked then he went out one day and it just stopped working. while i was driving it sometimes it would just cut in and out randomly. so i got an Alpine headunit from a friend and got it wired up and cut the car on.......NOTHING!! so we thought it could have been a bad headunit so we tried it in a friends wife's accord. it cut right on. i went yesterday to a Nissan performance shop and they happen to have 3 Bose headunits. i tried all 3 of them and none of them turned on. the only i could hear is the antenna going up and down and when i pressed eject it made the whinning noise that it should. any ideas what could be wrong??
So you did check for both constant AND switched B+ as I said, correct? There are two power feeds to the radio, the constant won't make it work. Also, you checked to make sure the ground is good? You were hardly descriptive in your methods.
Indeed. If it's getting power and ground, and has all been hooked up correctly, then there's something very amiss.

Okay, obviously this is going to be a trying dialog.
Have you or have you not checked for BOTH constant and switched B+?
We can't help if you completely neglect to answer our questions. And what did you ground? Are you assuming that it'll ground through the case, or did you run a new ground wire to the pre-existing ground wire?
