01 clutch issue, non-returning pedal

Ok, i just rebuild my slave cylinder, put in a new clutch. no leaks are visible. the problem is that when i push the clutch pedal it will go down, but when i let go it releases half way, and does not fully return to top. anyone know if there is a bushing of any sort on the slave cylinder piston that rides on clutch fork?

No, there is no bushing.

Did you actually bleed the system, or did you just put it together? Why did you rebuild the slave cylinder?

well, i bled, and bled, and bled some more, i swear i must have done it for 2 hours total. but in the end i ended up adjusting the pedal at the master cylinder, i adjusted the linkage for more throw in the pedal, increasing line pressure, which in turn released the clutch fully. so problem solved i guess, thanks guys

If you did nothing to the system other than rebuild the slave (which you still have neglected to answer why), then adjusting the pedal is a solution to the symptom, not the problem. If it was working fine before, there's no reason it shouldn't work the same afterwards (assuming you didn't replace the slave cylinder pushrod, and if you did, that you did verify they were both the same length).

Adjusting the master cylinder pushrod doesn't 'increase line pressure'.

You were using both bleeders, correct?

My clutch is weird. It took me some 2hrs to bleed it last time. I used a vacuum pump BTW. I would bleed the slave, then master a few times and clutch would be almost perfect. So I would do each one more time and there would be no pressure and the pedal sunk to the floor. Never ran the reservoir dry or even half empty...
