Will 2000 Stereo fit in 1998?

I have a 98 Max SE with the Bose stereo system. 3 of my LEDs are burned out and I am told they can't be repaired. A friend of mine is removing his 2000 Bose stereo because he is upgrading and I wanted to use it..

Does anyone know if this will work, fit and look decent?

Thanks!

There shouldn't be any problem. Because the stereo head units don't really change much in size with the newer models...the only problem you might have is that it might not plug in exactly to the back...but because it is still bose and nissan I don't foresee any problems. If your friend is taking it out then you should just pop yours out...it only takes like 20 minutes...to actually tell. But, I don't think there will be any problems

I have same exact 100% problem!!!!!!!! 3 of my buttons are burned out and do not light up at all at night time. So I am researching around if I can repair buttons or get another Bose headunit preferable from 1999 year or 200-2002 if they fit in our maxima?

Let me know if you can fit your Bose in your maxima?

Thanks!
