jdm tranny install now hesitation during start

just replaced with jdm 5spd, no codes. remote start is having trouble starting the car, when it is about to start and stops cranking and shuts down, when in the car using the key it hesitates for a moment before finally cranking one more time to start, any help would be great, thank you.

Did you clean up the mating surfaces between the bellhousing and motor?

If it is a true JDM trans for a Maxima there its most likely from a 2litre Cefiro - the 3litre Cefiro doesn't come in manual and the only 2.5 manuals I have seen have been converted from auto to manual.

Never heard of remote start on a manual, probably because you're supposed to park them in 1 or R and you have to push the clutch in on any modern car with a manual transmission to start it. My guess is your problem has something to do with that.

And dont remote start kits for manuals have some sort of mercury switch on them to kill the car if it tries to start in gear? (which I think would happen anyways.)

Most have a sequence you have to use to set the car for auto start. Auto start the car with the key in the ignition, trans in neutral and e-brake set. Remove keys and exit vehicle, lock doors and shut off car with fob.

If there's any electrical draw (dome or door lights) prior to the remote start being triggered the car will not auto start in case it's not in neutral anymore.

At least that's the way the DEI I installed on a Ford F-550 diesel worked.

This sounds more like a ground or power issue rather than anything affected by the auto start that I'm assuming was installed prior to the swap for the replacement 5-speed.

or you can bypass the safety switch and it allows your car to start w/o having to push the clutch...which is what i did when i 5spd swapped mine.

I have a remote start on my 5spd... You dont leave the car in 1st or R unless you're somewhere with a slope but regardless thats what the hand brake is for unless your ebrake cable is snapped or something you shouldn't have to do that.

yea jdm yo! you dont know bout that? i got it off some dude on ebay told me it was imported from japan hence jdm, took his word for it, anyway. i figured its probably just a bad ground somewhere in the starting system, when the motor is about to start the starter stops and the remote start thinks it started so it wont try and restart, all i did was bypass that clutch switch. but im pretty sure its a bad ground that needs to be replaced or upgraded with a couple of ground wires from the bell housing to the ground and from the starter housing mounting bolts to the bodies ground point near the iacv.
