97-99 stillin lip kit for 1996 nissan maxima?
97-99 stillin lip kit for 1996 nissan maxima?
my question for anyone who has an answer is, will a 97-99 nissan maxima stillin lip kit fit on a 1996 nissan maxima gxe? i was wondering because i do not like now the stillin lip kit for the 1996 maxima looks and i would rather like the 97-99 version of the lip kit. if it deosnt fit perfectly then how can i make it fit?
THANK YOU
THANK YOU
im assuming this is the same for the iconic lip kit....
god** i rly hate the way the 96 lips look. someone told me that it will fit but the only problem is the brackets, u would have to cut them of and find another way to attach the lip (but i have no clue since ive never dealt with lip kits for a maxima). what should i do?? and what makes the two bumpers so different? should i swap bummpers then add the lip?

Here's what you do:
Buy the following parts:
97-99 Front Bumper
97-99 Headlights (optional, but worth it)
97-99 Grill
97-99 Corner Lamps
97-99 Foglights (optional, IMO, worth it)
Then do a search on how to install it.
Buy:
97-99 Stillen front lip
Stillen side skirts are for 95-99
Stillen rear valences differ from 95-96, 97-99. It would basically be the same swap as the front.

A lip it better then no lip.

The owners just trimmed it down to fit the bumper, nothing major about that.
96maxgxe,
It will not simply bolt on, but Im sure your aware of that. It can be made to fit though with some trimming like I said. Another member here did it years ago. His name was PtownMax, its not a perfect fit but doesnt look too bad. He was the first to do it, and others have done it since.
If you take your time trimming it and do so little by little insuring fitment as you go Im sure you could get it really close.
Not the greatest pics but here ya go....

Now this lip was a damaged carbon fiber one that the member picked up used. That being said it, trimming down a carbon fiber lip backed with fiber glass or a complete fiberglass lip would be the way to go. Trimming down an actual Stillen polyurethane lip would be much harder to acheive clean smooth edges.
thanks flava, and congrats on motm! now ill everything else fit? like the side skirts and rear lip? what do u recommend? ionic or stillin cuz im really feeling the ionic lips? oh and btw...ur maxima is cleeeeaaaan! and is currently the wallpaper on my laptop haha
Go with the Ionic, its priced better and the quality is just as good.
Ionic makes their kits in three types of material, fiberglass, fiber reinforced plastic and carbon fiber.
The sideskirts will fit years 95-99 but the rears will not. If you have a 95-96 you will need the 95-96 rears. The 95-96 bumper is a bit shorter.

Agreed.

bumper lip
Hi, I was wondering if anyone could suggest me where could I get the bumper lip, and side skirts for NISSAN MAXIMA 97 because I have been searching through the internet and I can't find it anywhere. Thank you, I very appresiate.
Thanks...)
Thank you very much, I very appresiate it, I just wanted to ask for all those stuff and you told me about them...
I mean the shocks, the lights, wheels and other stuff, I really needed all these stuff, Thank you...!!!
this is how i see it, the ID lip is a knock off of the stillen lip with minor changes. thats why they look similar :/. not ******* on ID, i've owned an ID lip its just how i personally see it.
Personally I think the ID lip looks better than the stillen. It follows the contours of the front end a little more. The sideskirts as well. The rear valances however is a different story. That's just my opinion
All you need to do is buy a 97-99 front bumper on eBay and the 97 Stillen lip. You don't need to change headlights, only fogs if you have them on your 96 and want them in the 97 bumper. You can use your existing grille but the two posts will be a little short. no grille looks nice too
