price range for 95/96 Maximas

Hey, wondering what 95/96 Maximas are selling for in ok condition? Not looking for what you are currently selling your Max for, I want to know what you recently HAVE SOLD it for.

Thanks

This will vary quite a lot since its an old car and there are a lot of factors to consider. You'll be looking at $1k-3k depending on mileage, condition, rust, options etc.

You have to remember that its a 17 year old car and finding one in "ok" condition is getting harder and harder. I was at a scrap yard recently and I saw way more maximas than I had expected, soon it'll be a classic.

Yea that's true, so far in my research (mainly craigslist) I am seeing them posted for about $1600-2200 in my area. But wondering if they are selling at that price and how long they have been sitting.

I should have been more clear, ok condition meaning engine run fine, no CEL, and no dents

I paid $2200 for my 95 GLE with 250,000km in October 2011. It was in great shape, interior/leather was mint and I haven't had any problems with it other than I had to replace the worn out ignition switch and put a new air filter in it, which are both cheap to replace.

These cars are high-milers and typically go beyond 650k kilometers easy if you look after them and require minimal maintenance.

Basically what I'm trying to say is that your question is near impossible to answer with any accuracy since there are still many more factors to consider.

For example, if we look at a car that's only 2 years old then we would look at the options and mileage and by looking at those alone we would be able to very accurately predict a selling price.

For an older car you may want to look at: # of owners, maintenance history (fluids, belts, brakes, clutch, tires), previous accidents, types of owners (teenagers or old ladies), upgrades, # of features that still work, etc.... The list can go on forever.

Its hardly based on market value at that point, its only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. In Ontario you're required to purchase a used vehicle information package from the ministry on any used vehicle and it would state the vehicles book value which you would pay tax on. They don't even bother stating the book value on cars more than 12-15 years old because the value is so hard to determine on paper without actually selling the car.

That's what I'm saying...I can't see options changing the price, as most buyers would want to purchase based on mileage and year. Are 95 Maximas tough to sell for $2000 (without any major issues)? Anyone have difficulty selling theirs?

For a 1995 in "ok" condition with normal miles, I wd assume no more than $2000.

I think at certain point a good running car has a base value, not based on its make and model but that it's a good running car. IMO It's pretty hard to find decent car for under $1500. Many 4th gen Maxima's are near that.

So can you easily get 2000 for a Maxima? It really depends on condition. If its a god running car and doesn't have a 400k miles, probably yes. If the suspension is a wreck, interior trashed, the check engine light is on, tires are bald, the front crossmember rotted out, no.
