R34 fitment issue

hey guys,

I just installed an r34 retro on my maxima, but it seems im getting a little gap where the headlight meets the fender

The guy I bought the r34s off didn't send me a bracket, an dim thinking that could be the issue from my reading on the .org

When i push the headlights in the touch the fender but don't stay there, and i've realized that theres only screws on the side closest to the grill holding the lights in, is there a bracket im missing that goes on the other side? anyone got any pics of theres so maybe i could fabricate something?

its not a huge gap but its noticeable to me and i've seen these lights fit perfectly on many other maximas

i had that same gap, even with the brackets. if you cant fix it, ive heard of ppl taking rubber base board molding and cutting off a piece to close in the gap. IDK if works though

you will have better luck if you search for the cefiro lights install. since they dont fit the maxima right, thats what most guys do

You could bend sht all day but you still need 3 mounting points to hold your lights on..

Here's another pic to help you see whats wrong.. The hole between the corner and low beam is what the silver screw from the first pic goes into.. As you tighten the silver sheet metal screw it will pull the corner in towards the fender closing the gap and holding your lights in place..

Well I bent the stock mounting tab out of the way, and used some L-brackets to bring the lights in and hold them into place better, theres still a little gap but i think it's because the stock headlight bolts I used were too short and didn't pull them in enough, So i'm going to grab some longer bolts and hopefully that will do it! The gap is tiny now compared to before so im more satisfied now

Why do they flare up towards the ends like that? Looks as if the cutoff is curved upward.

Hmm im not to sure, i might have to do a little adjusting, I bought them off another member, so I just installed them hoping they'd be aimed properly, but I guess not, any hints for adjusting? or anyone know what would make them flare up like that?

Mine flare upwards like that too. I tried adjusting and had no luck. Guess how the projectors are?

Or the lenses.

My stock TSX clear lens is straight as an arrow, but the Retrofit source clone isn't.

Hmm.. just a thought, do you guys think maybe the bulb holders are upside down causing the bulbs to be upside down?, would this make a difference at all? does the return rod sit facing up or down? I jut installed them how they came so ill take a look

Im thinking it may just be the lenses, i believe they are audi Valeo lens

The return rod should be down.. Hopefully that's the problem cause somethings outa whack with your cutoff.. There's a bunch of things that can could cause that. More info on you retro needed..

BTW your car looks nice and clean..

Thanks man,

Im pretty sure the bulbs are in upside down then, ill flip them around and see if it fixes the cutoff, I was actually pretty disappointed when I first saw the cutoff because I was expecting it to be better than that lol

Ever find out the problem?

What projector is that btw? Seems like it could use a clear lense.
