6th gen brake upgrade for 4th gen??

well i have seen that for the 5th gen maximas you can take the bigger brakes off the 6th gen and put them on the 5th gen without too many problems. so im wondering if this ca be done for the 4th gen max?

Jeff92SE was selling the adapter brackets for this swap a while back. Not sure if he is anymore.

i kind of thought though that you just need to enlarge the wholes in the 4th gen steering knuckles so we can fit the 6th gen caliper bracket, then the caliper, rotor and pads?

Did some searching and it looks like youre right. The holes need to be drilled out from 12mm to 14mm.
Here's the thread I found on it. http://forums.maxima.org/advanced-su...s-4th-gen.html

Where are you getting the parts from? I've contemplated bigger brakes for a little while now.

i thought of this awhile ago when lurking the 5th gen forums about swapping the 6th gen brakes....4th gens to 5.5 gens= success..5.5gens to 6th gens...=4th to 6th..
what kind of clearance would you need on these?
my mille migila wheels have 37mm offset and are 16', would this be enough or should i stick to some 5.5 gens?
EDIT; duh i would need 17's, dont know why i asked...

i got a friend who works at a junk yard and can hook me up with the parts off another max if they get some, which they do pretty often. and yea you will probably need bigger wheels if your doing the 6th gen brake upgrade, it even talks about it in the link here. .
