Hi boys, ever since I did the 9007 mod, I've been getting flashed the high beams occasionally. I think with the different beam pattern, I need to aim them down a bit. I did look in the " How To" section, but couldn't find how to aim them down a tad. I think it's one of the long screw things you turn to adjust. But which one aims up and down and which one aims left and right? Thanks in advance for the quick answer.

why dont u test them out? You're beams are jacked up already, not like you're going to "mis-align" them.

 

Hi, well I have been testing them out for a week now and I'm getting flashed by oncoming traffic. The different beam pattern must be higher. The light is much better, but don't want to blind anyone.

 

No, what I mean is you should experiment which ***** controls left and right and which one controls up and down.

its that freaking glare, its like all this idiot's with HID kits and no projectors

 

When I did the 9007 on my max, I had to aim the headlights down a tad. They were aimed up a bit because of the different bulbs. Shine the lights at a wall straight on when you are parked about 20-30 feet away and use the adjusters to aim them down a bit.

 

Update: I went to the place I get my inspection sticker and he told me to pull into the inspection bay and line up the lights on the board. From what he told me, they're exactly where they should be to the inch. He said that the occasional flashing I'm getting from on coming traffic is probably because they're bright, not because they're out of alignment. So I guess these fart knockers who are flashing me are just gonna have to deal, because there are a lot more brighter and blinding headlights out there compared to my 9007's.

 

Been a LONG time since I've heard that phrase.

 

I tried this modification. Although many will say otherwise, the beam pattern from the 9007 is not suitable for the 4th gen housing, it was designed for a 9004 headlight.

 

did you find out which screw aims the Headlights Downwards?

 

i don't know wtf you're talking about the the beam pattern is the SAME. You're not changing the reflective housing, you're just amping up the light output.

I don't have a problem with my head lights. I did have to lower them a bit, but i never get flashed or complaints, even when driving behind friends.

You can't be wrong and strong at the same time.

 

To the OP, the reason your getting flashed is because of the glare or scattered light that makes your lights appear brighter to YOU but also shines in on comming traffic's line of sight. In fact you are causing a hazard to other drivers on the road.

The 9007 conversion put the light output axis 90 degrees off, which distroys the already poor beam pattern of your headlights.

 

Hey, I've dinking with those adjustment screws to see which way to aim them down a bit and they won't move. It appears I can use a philips screwdriver or a wrench?

 

9 or 10 mm socket.

 

Its either 8mm or 10mm last I checked

 

Hi, I got it. I just aimed them down a bit. I will go for a drive soon when its dark and check the aim on the road.
Thanks for your help, I wasn't looking at the correct adjustment screw. Duh!!
