I raced a 2k2 altima tonight, we had 3 good races since the road was clear and the radar. He had 2k2 altima with dual exhaust, and bomb mufflers,(automatic) so i thought i would give it a try. Man was that wrong, he picked me off the line, and beat me by atleast a car length every time. Yes having autotragic is the worst that can happen to a maxima driver, but he did tooo!! All i can say is wooowww, makes me want to buy the 2k2 altima in a heartbeat. So what do you guys think, would i have had any chance if i had a stick maxima minus the extra person in my car??? I have an Stillen exhaust, Greddy intake, and cattman y-pipe with 16" rims.

Sounds like you need to practice your lauching techniques..... Yea those new Alti's are pretty damn fast..... Nice looking too, except the rear lights..... Good luck next time

 

you would have walked him hard in a 5-speed max with those mods, and minus the extra weight....those automatic altys run mid to low 15s and a 5-speed max with those mods is capable of mid to low 14s...

you said a 2k2 altima with dual exhaust... do you mean he had the V6 or he had the 4 cylinder and added an exhaust? the V6 would definitely pull on you but the 4 cylinder with a few mods should keep up, it has almost the same horse and its a newer car

 

I tested out a 2k2 Altima SE 3.5 on Friday in top end. I didn't get beat, but they sure aren't to be underestimated.

 

Well i believe since he had dual exhausts, it was meant to understand that he had a v6. Although, you could be right- on him having a custom dual system. who knows??? Good thought.

i dont think a max with the proper bolt ons 5spd anyway, has raced a new altima. i keep looking but no takers. i know they are plenty fast but so is my car.
