Anyone Know How to Clean Engine Bay on 7th Gen Maxima?

Just wondering if any of you guys have cleaned your 09's engine bay yet. I was looking to do this before the show hit and just take a day and detail the car in and out but I've never cleaned under the hood before. Anyone have any ideas on how to go about doing this and what product(s) to use?

Thank You guys.

I would take it to a wand car wash and let some simple green soak on it for a bit and hose it down. If you want the plastic to look shiny and not dull and faded try getting some meguiar's interior detailer spray.

Do you guys cover anything at all or do you just spray away? I have an intake on mine and obviously that needs to be covered but is there anything to be worried about with the alternator or any other electricals?

*I hearby do not take any responsibility for damages incurred from the advice hence forth*

I wouldn't bother covering anything up besides the intake. Everything else should be relatively protected with the plastic shields already in place.

Don't have my shields installed. I took them out because of the front strut tower bar and never had the chance to put them back in because I messed up on a cut and I painted them and they didn't turn out to good.
