What would cause my rear to feel like its moving side to side over bad roads?

What would cause my rear to feel like its moving side to side over bad roads?

4th gen
illuminas
nuts and lugs all rechecked and tight.


Feels like it just started up, if im going over bumps or bad roads, the rear seems to "fish tail" .

ive got the same problem i would like to know what causes that problem but i have all factory shocks and struts, soon will have tokico install

Blown struts will cause it.
Also could have worn trailing arm bushings

yes, and yes.

also check your tire pressures. When it gets cold, the air gets smaller and the tires get squishier

+1 The others are possible, but the S-R link is whats responsible for lateral control.

The trailing arm bushings are also known to die eventually, and will result in a wandering car as the rear end alignment changes. I've seen a few 4 and 5 gens with bad bushings, and the back end drives weird.
