Can you adjust the starter engagement switch on the clutch pedal?

On my max, you have to push the clutch all the way to the floor and sometimes put even more force on it before itll let you start the engine. I havent looked under there yet but is there a way to adjust it out so that itll engage when your almost to the floor like all the other cars? Today at school I had to press the clutch in and out about 6 times before the engine would crank.

Thanks

Yes, it is adjustable.

Have you given a thought to the switch being defective, rather than out of adjustment?

Well I looked under there today and saw that my floor mat had curled up and became too thick. All better now. But thanks for the info. Good to know.

Just put a jumper wire between the two pins on the connector.

Meant to ask you about that. On the clutch pedal, there's a switch for when the clutch is engaged, and when the clutch is disengaged. Obviously the "disengaged" switch is connected to the neutral safety switch circuit, but is there a viable use for the "engaged" switch?

'Engaged' and 'disengaged' can mean the opposite things to different people, so I'll say this:
The bottom switch detects when the clutch pedal has been fully depressed, and allows you to start the car.
The upper switch detects only when the clutch pedal is completely up, and is the ASCD cancel switch; pretty much as soon as you touch the clutch pedal, it kills cruise (same as shifting into neutral or hitting the brakes).

Yeah, the "disengage" switch i'm referring to is the bottom switch, i.e., the switch when the clutch is disengaged. How could the upper switch be wired into the ASCD relay? Keep in mind I'm swapping to a 5spd.

EDIT: just kidding, wire the switch in series with the brake pedal ASCD switch. Got it. Carry on.

I don't have to press the clutch to start my Max and the cruise control works just fine. I don't know why I can start it without the clutch, though. It was just like that when I bought it.

Maybe the bracket that the switch is mounted to is bent a little?

Well Its still acting up and getting worse with nothing in the way. So I wanted to bypass the clutch switch and run it like that for say a week and see if that solves the problem so then Id just replace the switch if not Ill look elsewhere. So how do I bypass it? Just unplug the switch and put a jumper wire on between the terminals on the plug?
