It's because the resistor in the motor has gone bad. You'll have to get a new resistor. It's actually a pretty easy fix. The part is about $30 from Nissan I believe. See if you can find a used one first, though.

Search through the stickies. I believe there are a few how-to threads on this around...

Easy fix, a trace on the circut board melted on mine and i resoldered it, worked since, however it may not be your case , could be toasted.

Ditto.

If you are handy with a soldering iron you may be able to fix.

Otherwise I'd buy a new one. A used one could be heading down the same path as yours and fpr $30~$40 you can't go wrong.

And make sure you change your cabin air filter while you have the glovebox out.

The cost of the resistor depends on whether you have a manual or automatic HVAC system. The one for the automatic costs more...

definitely the blower resistor, you can get one from Autozone, but i'm not sure, cuz i work there, I'm always googling all the parts see what they carry for our 5th gen, surprisely most of them they don't carry that has to be special order which is bullsh*t. lol

Lucky you, my heater practically burns your face while you drive. It's sooo hot even if I lower the heat -_-

Word right!? In a 5th gen there is no compromise, you either burn in the winter, and then the AC in the summer is so damn cold you'll catch a cold. That **** requires some precise as tuning to be able to just set it and leave it. Otherwise you gotta keep turn the fans back on and off.

Yup but if I'm driving alone I close the driver side vents and open the passenger vents. That evens it out haha

There is got to be something wrong with my Max! A/C works just fine in summer, but the heater takes for ever before blowing what I would call warm air.

I have tried everything,
- Engine thermostat
- Ambiant air temp sensor
- Radiator cap

Blower works fine, but pratically no heat is comming from the ducts...

That really bothers you guys?

I love the fact that my Max's A/C is so powerful. Especially with it getting as hot and humid as it does where I live. Nothing's nicer than having to walk outside in the heat, and then getting into an ice-cold car after.
