is there a difference in fog lights as a whole from the 5th gen to 5.5??

00-01 are totally different from 02-03, when looking for replacements you have to order correctly. 00-01 will not fit on a 02-03 and visa versa

Also, the 02-03 fogs have a glass lens i believe as well.

You are correct ... the lens is glass as well the mounting brackets are totally different from the 00-01
