head lights are toasted, how much to replace?

For the last month or so I have had no head light and today i checked them to see what was wrong and saw that the plugs to the lights have melted because the light bulb burn to hot. So I guess I have to replace them. Has this ever happen to anyone here, I was using those Nokya's and how much does it cost to replace those tips?

I guess it should cost atleast $300 which should include the tech to diagnose the problem, along w/ splicing some new headlight connectors, should be cheaper if you do it yourself and get the parts from the dealer. good luck.

my friend did the same thing to his older max 90 with the nokyas he upgraded the harness high wattage one roughly 60 or so at the time. No problems after that. Just get that if you want 2 run high wattage bulbs.

I run Hiper Industries bulbs and melted a headlight socket this past summer. Just went down to AutoZone and picked up a socket for $5. Spliced it back in and haven't had a problem since. If you want to upgrade the harness you should be able to get one for around $35 or so. Check Autodynamic.com.

Your bulbs are higher wattage then stock, if u dont want to keep burning the harness, get the upgraded one..

BTW, 70$ sounds like too much for wire harness..... I never burned mine, but i heard it costs like 6$ at pepboys, autozone etc... for stock 9004 wire harness.....

Same thing happened to my wife's 94 Altima. I just got two plugs from a salvage yard fo $25 for the pair( one extra plug in case I F'd it up. Connect the wires and you're driving again. Just make sure you change the healight fuse in the fuse box also, It goes when the light burns out.
