Fun worthless facts: Weight Stock Cali spec to Warpspeed y + fed front manifold

I started to install my fed spec Warpspeed y and Fed front manifold and decided to get a weight difference from a bathroom scale.

The Cali spec front pre-cat and front manifold are nearly inseparable so I weighed that first.

Cali pre-cat & front exhaust manifold 21.6 lbs.
Rest of Cali spec y pipe 16.6 lbs
Total Cali spec y pipe + manifold 38.2 lbs

Fed spec front manifold 8.0 lbs
Fed spec Warpspeed y pipe 10.8 lbs
Total Fed spec y pipe + manifold 18.8 lbs

That is a 19.4 lbs savings in weight. LOL, the cali front precat and manifold weighs more than the entire fed spec setup.

I've got a cali. spec with WSP y-pipe. Good to know. Did you use a 02 sim for the front?

I'm using the antifouler trick. Need to extend the sensors though. I will give results as soon as I complete tomorrow. Did you keep your front pre-cat?

Nice. Yep I still have my front pre-cat. But I will be putting on my sc in the summer so I'm interested in removing the pre-cat since I know what they do on a sc car. My friends supercharged toyota was cali spec and he lost 100whp on the dyno and they smelled so bad, they got cooked to a crisp.

Wow, I'll have to search this up. I already have my supercharger but I haven't installed it yet.

The installer recomended that I had some sort of afc (done), Transmission cooler (purchased), shift kit (purchased) and fed spec conversion with a y pipe (almost done) before he installs the SC. I am surprised on the honesty instead of rushing for a quick buck and then tell me after everything is installed.

Should have searched on here. I'll be using at least the DR mod instead of the VB mod or shift kit. What kind of afc? But sounds like you have a good person helping you out.

I was excited about getting the sc kit and would have installed then upgraded but he insisted that I wouldn't be able to resist pushing it and would probably delay the recomended items

I got a vafc 2 if I ever decide to install an 00vi kit.
