I was under the impression you keep the vq35(or 30) settings since it is the vq35 (or 30 if dek) element. Then you tune the air flow map/injector map

Im gonna find out in about a week or so when I install my EM-U but I do believe it will be done with the "Airflow change to" pg.12 setting under the "Vehicle" tab in "Parameter setting". Its gonna take some figuring out since I dont have it installed just yet but I plan on getting it to run/idle with a stock diameter maf and then play with it until I get the change corrected to correct my idle with the BBMAF.

Only thing that worries me is that Mafs for the VQ35 arent cheap so I am gonna call Greddy tech support and ask them to be sure before I fry anything.

You can use the airflow adjustment map or bolt it up and do some datalogging and just make normal changes to your I/J map.

Thanks guys. Do you think car will be driveable with it slapped in there? Reason being is I don't want to show up at the dyno place and start installing things there.

It shouldn't. Boosted 4th gens running EU/Z32 MAF combinations haven't had issues. Closed loop shouldn't be a problem but keep a close eye on AFR during WOT runs due to the bigger housing could cause you to go lean.

I got EU and Z32 maf, I dont have issues (dont kno why you would have), just turn the normal settings as if you had a stock maf, just gotta make corrections for the bigger maf thats all, no biggie. I run my ECU open loop all the time, I dont have any o2's hooked up, however I still have 14.7 a/f while normal driving and cruising (manually tuned).

Depends on the software you're using. You need to find a way to feed the factory ECU a high TPS signal first to make it think that it's in open loop and then tune accordingly.

For running without an O2 sensor? IMO it's worthless for an N/A car, but for streetz's car (Built VQ35/big turbo...) it would be easier to drive the car and tune it when cruising if you have full control of injector pulse at any given time. Maybe he'll chime in and correct me if I'm wrong.

I hooked up my EMU yesterday briefly before I had to pull it, need to double check my wiring since it wasnt seeing the TPS.

But let me know if this sounds right, by using a negative value (-12% for instance) on the "AirFlow Adjustment" map I would be compensating for the increase in maf housing size.

I tried to find a suitable value in the "Airflow change to" but by the looks of it the VQ is the biggest engine listed so I dont think any of the other engines listed will have a larger maf housing. Wont know for sure until I get it hooked up properly.

The Q45 wouldn't happen to be there?
