Best COMPLETE 5.5 gen Exhaust

I know the common consensus is that the Cattman 3" Catback is the best of its kind for our cars as far as hp gain. My question is this: What other parts (headers etc.) will give the most hp gains when paired with this system. From headers to the very end, what available parts will give the best power gains on the 5.5 gen?

im also interested in this as my stock exhaust is rusting through with my inspection coming up. ive seen the headers and y pipe on custommaxima.com which say they give you 10 hp to the wheels at the least. Also they have a high flow rear cat converter which i was looking at but dont know much about it. If anyone has any experience on this cat converter i would appreciate it

im interested in the same thing...so i did some reading

a lot of people pair up the cattman 2.5" exhaust with the cattman or obx headers...from what ive seen at least. I believe the same with the 3" exhaust would be ideal but this is only speculation and my OCD to keep parts the same (ie. the whole exhaust from the same company if possible...weird i know)

this requires search bro... anyways to answer the question
OBX or cattman headers with a cattman 3" catback will give similar gains
OBX or cattman headers with Custimmaxima 3" (whenever it comes out) is also the exact same thing or gives similar gains
just as long as you do headers a high flow cat and a 3" is going to be the same gains, i dont think the car can tell whether brian, tom, d!ck, or harry made the system, it just responds to the removal of restrictive cats, that all... now choose wheichever, however im sure for the best sound cattman 3" will have the edge over custom maxima and thats probebly what the extra $$$ is for.... The one on ebay from Modified Concept is cheaper and is the same product. $150 SHIPPED. ITS GREAT IMO FOR THE PRICE. Read my other thread that has pics and a video. http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...len+head+bolts

Is it smarter to do cat-back exhaust first, or headers?

i would do headers 1st. seems like the only option at the moment is cattman, so i hope you have 900 bux to get them

wasnt obx gonna run another batch? i dont see the good ones on ebay

I personally don't think so being that the specs of both sites are identical. And both misleading being that it says its 2.5 piping and then contradicts itself saying its 2.25. But either way, the quality of the system I got is mediocre but awesome for the price. Sounds great, aggressive and deep with out the restrictive and almost too quiet with the restrictor inplace.
Imo, I couldn't see myself spending $400 on a Megan or Catman being im a daily driver and had my OEM exhaust break. Although I do like the duel tip Megan and Catman style exhaust muffler

don't forget the NWP spacers. I gained about 18-25 torque and 10-15 horse in the midrange. Got headers first, then tuned, then retuned with the spacers and saw the amazing gains. Still peaked at about the same number though, probably due to the cams and the vias plate

heres the dyno showing tuned headers, then tuned with nwp spacers and headers
