VQ30 with 3.5 heads, and VK45 pistons?

Okay, so I am doing some research and just looking into the possibility. After reading the thread regarding the VK45 pistons in the 3.0 block, and the conclusion that machining would need to be done to make them work, I thought about trying some 3.5 heads. The two threads I am referring to are here:

http://forums.maxima.org/all-motor/5...highlight=vh45

and

http://forums.maxima.org/all-motor/3...q30-block.html

The idea is, with a slightly thicker head gasket, and the 3.5 heads, would the vk45 pistons be a reliable source for a higher CR setup for the 3.0? Ricer math has the CR being around 10.xx when all is said and done, plus the superior design of the 3.5 heads. I am simply wondering, will the pistons clear the heads at TDC, as well as clear the valves based on an increase in valve lift from the 3.5 heads?

Import-performance-parts has custom pistons 3.0DE for $600, but its hard for me to swallow the price on that, plus 3.5 cams and adapters. I am unfamiliar with the shape and the design of the 3.5DE (or HR) combustion chambers, can anyone fill me in?

For what its worth, I can get brand new DE heads, with cams, valves and and everything for $225 each. I also might have a source for OE VK45 pistons. Just seeing what my options are.

The way the cyl chamber won't match up with the vq30 block, it might not produce good results. You are better off doing this:

My old NA plan
VQ30de-k(maybe)
all vk valvetrain
revup cams
revup oil pump
and lots of tuning

This is similar to what dandy did and he made ALOT of power.

Or save up for a 35 swap.

Thats what Dave was saying. Question answered then. Why VK? Just curious as to why you chose that. Just for the CR? Ive got the DEK and oil pump already.

VK valvetrain is lighter which will help the motor rev faster. You can do VK pistons with the DEK but you will have to shave a lil bit off the top. You might be better off using DD pistons, look up that thread where DaveB compares the pics of the two. The DD pistons are high compression

So something like these? I know these are the VH, but the bore is the same. I cant find the site that had all of the nissan engines listed with the bore, stroke, CR etc. It was on tatankoz site but Im not sure now.
