So I have a vq30DEK and am doing a custom IT manifold build.

This is going to leave the rear valve cover very much exposed.
I wanted to take the front valve cover from another vq30de i have and put it on the rear of my vq30DEK.
I understand there will be another oil filler, BUT with my build that might work out to my advantage so I don't mind.

Also I am ready to swap in the front coils from the vq30DE to the rear of the vq30dek so i can screw down the coils to the valve cover. Also be able to use the "nissan cover" over it.

My question, has this been done? I understand I can look at it when my car is apart, but I wanted to order the seals etc before I start working to get discounted prices.

Are the bolts in similar pattern as the front valve cover?

Any input would be appreciated.

 

I am pretty sure it will not fit, hence the reasons for L and R gaskets.
You will have gaps at the ends im pretty sure.

 

... dammit.. i took a look at the fsm and the actual internals are a dif. size so the cover is surely a dif size... ... oh well. maybe i can rig up the front coils and use the "nissan cover" so I don't have the rear coils sticking out like fork in cake...

 

the front wont fit the rear, de/dek rears are interchangeable

 

how about z33 cam covers ...
