100 or 110 amp alternator?
100 or 110 amp alternator?
Hey all,
I went to Autozone to look up an alternator for my 2001 max. They gave me a price for $169.99 with exchange and lifetime warranty for a remanufactured unit. The screen said it was a 100 amp alternator.
Shopping around, i went to Pep boys. They have 2 remanufactured units:
169.99 for a 100 amp unit
159.99 for a 110 amp unit
What is the difference in the two besides the price and 10 more amps? Does our max take a 110 amp unit or 100? Curious..thanks

Here's the thing.
The original alternator from the factory is LR110-725C. When I look up the 100 amp alternator, it matches the cross reference number. The 110 amp alternator doesn't match up from the cross reference numbers. I guess I'll have to take the alternator in to match it up just in case.
