Quick? Where should I pass the power wire thru?

I'm going to install a converter so I can hook up a box and amp to the factory radio. I was wondering where you guys are feeding the power wire from the battery thru engine bay. I looked around and could figure where to put it thru. Also I have the stock BOSE, is there an amp in the trunk that I could work off or is it better to go directly to the battery? One more question, where did you put the remote wire to? I figured this would be better answered in the 6thgen forum than the audio since it is specific to the 6th. thanks for your help fellas

Mine runs through as Apollos2 has pictured. Pulled the carpet back inside and where the clutch plate is stamped in the metal is where i drilled. I have seen others take the drivers side fender well out to reveal where the main wire harness goes from cabin to engine room. A slit was cut in the grommet and 0gauge was run through.

As far as the remote turn on since you are keeping the stock head unit the easiest would be to get an amp that senses signal on the RCA's and turns the amp on. Otherwise just tap into a accessory line in the fuse box(hot only when the key is turned on).
