Intake pipe questions

Anyone know the diameter of the maf housing as well as the throttle body inlet?

This is weird, but I happen to have a MAF housing right here on my desk.

The inside diameter appears to be 2 and 3/4". The outside diameter seems to be 3 and 1/8". That's the TB side of the housing. The screen side is awkward to measure because of the flange.

TB = 75mm

Need to measure those things from the rear.=, which gives a true value.

Even if all the ID's aren't the same, a 3" MAF housing still massively increases throttle response given the right software configuration.

2.75" ID.

It's a situation when you change the ID of the MAF housing.

From what I've been reading and picking up around here, a larger inside diameter (big bore) is desirable, but requires a managed tune (piggyback).

That about right, NmexMAX?

Yes. I needed to ad + 27% on my SAFCII. I'm not going to get into this because the information is there, so to the OP, are your plans?

What setting did you have to add 27% to? I'm planning on S/VAFC II soon enough, and just would like to know everything I can about it

It was + 27% until I changed the IN/OUT setting to the Q45 MAF, 1 IN / 17 OUT = no correction.

This thread is cool:

This is 3 inch here. Think it would be safe without a tune? and anybody ever use?

They also allow you to build your own intake by piecing together the different bends and pipe then mark it and send it back to them for weld buff and polish.

Would make for a nice all in one unit I would say.
