Home made silver when off/ orange when on lights
Since I have clear lights front and rear, and I have orange bulbs, sometimes the orange shines thru the clear lenses and dirties the lens. As I was researching on BMW, I ran into this http://www.apexcone.com/TechProcedur...lverLamps.html
So I decided to do this. I cleaned the lenses and then silver spray painted them slightly. The result is awesome, I'll post some pics if I ever get around to it, but the lights dont have that amber tinge anymore when the lights are off and still shines amber when it is on. Definately worth it.

I tried several methods when I was doing mine, from dipping them, to spraying them, to painting them by hand.
I had the best luck with some translucent silver acrylic paint I picked up at the local art supply store and brushing it on and letting it dry in thin, even coats.

umm...don't buy cheap paint...my friend bought the cheapest paint he could find right...then he painted it on all his bulbs on the inside of the car...and 2 minutes later...we see smoke...lol...so...buy really good paint...k
i did this for my car. the key is to spray a light coat of silver. the amber will still show a little through the silver when seen up close. spray in coats to avoid overspray or the light will not be bright enough.
