4th gen rear struts/springs on 5th gen
wats up guys quick question...i have my eibach pro kit from my 4th gen and im trying to see if i can get them to work with my 5th gen....from what i've read:
Front 4th gen springs fit Front 5th gen struts
4th gen Rear struts bolt up to the 5th gen
4th gen rear springs dont fit 5th gen struts
if i used the 4th gen spring&strut would i be able to use that in the rears?

well i have springs left over from my old 4th gen and i was wondering if they would fit my sisters 5th gen and how the ride will be...who knows maybe it would have worked and rode good...THATS WHY I ASKED...but apparently not looks like ill be ordering new springs...she wanted to lower it and i figured mayb she could use my springs
ok so seein as how this is a current thread i am sellin my 5th gen and buyin a 4th gen this week i have a set of lowering springs from my 5th gen in my closet, could i use them on the 4th gen or is it a different setup?? if i could make them work how??
You might be able to install the 5th gen rear springs on the 4th gen rear strut since the the 4th gen strut spring seat is wider than the spring coil.....

I tried something similar but got stuck at the basics with the rear struts. The lower rear strut bolt won't loosen. I couldn't budge it with a 2 foot breaker bar so I used a bottle jack against the end of a box wrench and the bolt moved but it just spins. The flared nut that sits in the rear mounting bracket slot spins with the bolt and the edges of the nut flats have gotten rounded. The only thing that I can think of doing now is to cut the lower rear bolt off.
Any thoughts on how I can get the bolt loosened without cutting it off?

Loud Crack
Since the nut peaks got rounded allowing the nut to just spin, I screwed some wood screws with wide threads into the area on the side of the nut on the strut mount bracket. That immobilized the nut. I then applied the bottle jack again against the 2 foot breaker bar and stood on the end of the bar; it had to be over a 1000 lbs. of torque. Finally, there was a loud crack and the nut loosened. After a second crack, the bolt was free and easily came off. The threads of the bolt showed that there was corrosion where the nut rested on it. Fortunately, I had an exact replacement nut. The top nut on the front struts are flanged nuts that serve as a direct replacement for the rear mounting bolt nut. I had replaced those nuts on the front with the nuts that came with the new struts and saved the original top nuts as a spare.
