It's a 95'. The car jerks through gears HARSHLY It never used to do this before and I'm pretty pissed, although I knew what to expect. Just lucky there aren't any idling problems or any of the other potential problems that come with the installation of another engine Also there's a check engine light if that helps with anything.

Pull the codes, either yourself or at autozone. Also, any recent work done? How many miles? Did you seat the TC correctly?

Was this a high-mileage engine/tranny combo? If so, what condition was the tranny fluid in? If it was dark and smelled a little burnt, did you reuse it or put fresh fluid in?

Dropping resistor

I had the same problem with a '97. I replaced the dropping resistor that is located behind the air cleaner box on the firewall. The part was $55 but taht was 5 years ago. The cel went off and it shifted so smooth.

The tranny has 217k on it and the fluid was actually just replaced before the replacement. To make it more clear it only jerks shifting into 1st gear. I'm gonna take an educated guess and say it's one of the engine mounts???

awww, dude... that tranny could be garbage...

has maintenance been done regularly?

was there any significant amount of metal in the fluid or any condition in it prior?
