Installed my first subwoofer!

Today was the day. I finally installed my first 12" sub in a sealed enclosure which I bought locally for $40.

What a difference it makes inside the car, but still not impressive outside the car. I thought I was going to make my house windows rattle.

Anyway, this forum has been the ultimate in helping me upgrade my audio. From finding out where to route the power wire from the firewall, to choosing the best enclosure, I thank everyone.

I will have pics up very soon of the entire system including the new rims.

don't expect crazy bass for $40!

My systems worth about $900 (just amp and subs) and I still need more, it's addictive! Good job tho!

The enclosure was $40. The sub I have is a JBL and I paid much more for that.

Its sounds good though.

That's what matters. If you like it, then it was worth the money. Don't let any moron tell you otherwise. Music is all a matter of opinion, and some people like different music than others. So if this sub makes your ears happy, then by all means tell the other guys to go to hell (unless they're having problems themselves)

As long as it sounds good inside, thats all that matters.

I don't think trying to make it rattle house windows is a good idea. Over booming bass is so 1988.

If you really want alot of bass out of just a 12" speaker go get yourself an Infinity Subwoofer. Get a Kappa Perfect. They are expensive but you can use up to 1000 watts or more on them and they sound very clear and will make it wound like 2 12's in that trunk.

You're lucky that your system isn't making your house shake. People with loud systems=People who get their systems stolen.. I think part of it has to do with Maxima's excellent sound blockage.. With my windows up you can barely tell I have a system from outside, but with windows down it's pretty obvious..

i have 2 12" jl's w3 series, into a ported box. and i use only a 400 watt amp w/ a pre-amp eq, and the subs could handle 200 watts more. but my shet bumps like ***** phuka. all you need is the pre- amp eq, and lower the high's and gain the low's. you'll here a big differance.
