Bulbs from HID EXTRA don't fit my harness?
Bulbs from HID EXTRA don't fit my harness?
So I bought some 6k's D2R's about a month or so ago, and just got around to attempting to put them in yesterday afternoon.
I got my right HL assembly out and when i take out the bulb I realize that the bulb has a connector on it that doesnt match the bulb that i received from HIDEXTRA.
The HIDEXTRA bulb has a simple round "end piece" that would I guess normally attach to the harness.
This is the bulb from yesterday

The original bulb has a connector that bends downward at a 90 degree angle.
It looks like this one

I dont understand? Am i supposed to remove the little 90 degree bend part of the plastic and then attach the round part in there?
that doesnt seem right...
everything i've read says just pop out the light and pop the new one in ...
help?

thats f'd up though cause there are MANY websites that shows the bulbs that I got in the mail as the correct bulbs ...
the right HL is stock and the left HL is a depo headlight ...
it was there when i bought the car and didnt even realize it was different until over a year later ..
both HL's have the same plug harness though ...
when i look at pics of 6ik D2r/dr2 they look the exact same as what I have (that i got in the mail)
hate mailing **** back

Most hid sellers sell the D2C bulbs as D2R bulbs, been there done that millions of times. The true D2R bulbs have the metallic strip on the bulb. But regardless, something went wrong with your order. I got some Philips 5K's for sale

if the d2r's really fit in your headlights(maybe it is 9012 or 9006 that is actually meant for your headlights), you can always get a d2r to AMP plug. AMP is the type of plug that most aftermarket ballasts use to connect to the aftermarket bulbs. Just google it and you should find them, you can use any popular auction site to find them too.
On second thought, those look like they are possibly KET connectors( an older type of aftermarket connector used for aftermarket hid) If that is the case, then a KET to D2r adapter would probably be needed. Those will be harder to find. If you can't find the KET to D2R adapter, you will have to get a KET to AMP adapter, AND get a AMP to D2R adapter.
