My Yellow Calipers....keep or go back to red ones?
I like the yellow, thats what mine are. I think the gauges are tight too. Where did you get the bulbs from?

Uh huh!!
Heh...not just bigger rotors...new rotors...did you read one of my other posts about my front rotors being warped? They have been turned 5 or 6 times and are the original ones on the car. 10.5 years old and 150,000 miles. It's time for them to go! I'll get the stillen ones like you matt...i'll do the same brakepad deal too...I was kinda in a hurry mainly because i was doing it in my garage and it was/is about 20 degrees out. I know what you're thinking about that too! My garage is heated, but it's only about 60 in the garage though. When I have the time, I'll do it your way Matt...Oh yea...check out below...that's part of where I work here in Omaha....Can you say "party"?

Yellow calipers and guage lights
Fast... I was a little skeptical of the yellow calipers, but on your car it looks good. I have a dark gray max with red calipers and I think the contrast looks good. On your lighter car, I think the contract is good too. Hey how difficult was it to replace the gauge bulbs? Also, does the dimming button still work, if you replace these bulbs? Also, you stated that they were a higher wattage, do they burn hotter, or mess anything up? The last thing I need is a dash fire...
Re: Uh huh!!
Nice pic. Didn't know you have sheet metal lined garage! hehe. And you can't safely turn your rotors more than twice. Any more and it's probably illegal.

Re: Re: Uh huh!!
well...so i guess i will get the stillen ones ASAP...
as for the bulbs (and difficulty replacing them), the dimming switch still works and the bulbs burn brighter and cooler. I don't notice any problems (or heat) at any time. The dash really isn't that hard to take apart. It's just remembering where all of the screws go back where. There are 4 screws below the top of the dashboard on the drivers side (above the steering column). There are 3 under the foglights switch/rear defroster and 3 under the power mirror control. I don't recall whether or not i needed to take the "main" part of the dash off (where the cd player/a.c. controls are) because I was hooking up my new speakers at the same time. You don't have to "break in" to the speedo part at all (the clear plastic cover) After you remove the (stated above) parts, simply pull the speedo assembly towards you and you will see a circuitboard full of lights. There are several little ones (smaller than the 194/168's) for the small dash lights. You will see 4 larger (brown colored) light holders that twist out (kind of like the bottom of a computer mouse). Remove the bulbs, put your blue, red, white, or superwhite/blues (4 of them) into the dash. I also tried this with regular wattage 194 bulbs and it looks fine. Kind of dim when the A/C is on, but other than that, it's ok. Thats kinda why I went with the superblues. Also when you get the old light bulbs off, you will notice that the old ones have BLUE COVERS! I guess that nissan originally tried to make the back of the SE gauges look blue, but instead looked a white/yellowish color. I'm guessing that this will work for the other models of the Maxima. I was in my "creative" state of mind, so in my 92GXE, I put a blue bulb underneath the auto "gear selector" which looks cool. Also in the trunk, glovebox, step lights, and (small part) of the clear corners. I hope that this helps anyone that wants to do it. It's really very simple. It just takes a lot of time (probably a good 2-3 hours for the dash lights).

I put one of those blue bulbs in my shifter lights too. Recently the interior lights on my shifter dont come on at night. Also some of the lights on the dash near the AC seem to cut off and on every now and then. Seems really strange. Havent had the time to take them apart and check the bulbs, but I remember other people saying they had that problem too. Not to big of a deal to me but I was wondering if anyone figured out if it was a problem besides the bulbs.
