Noise when Braking

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aL2YLazDFv0

It sounds identical to this. I am going to change pads today to see if it resolves the issue.

I have z32 brakes on her, and the noise is getting verrry annoying!!

please help with a diagnosis!!

Perk, you sure it's the brakes, and not something else?

Does the sound increase when you drive faster? And does anything smell like it's burning?

I know I've heard this sound before. But I've never heard of a cause or cure.

no just as i apply the brakes, the noise goes away when i turn the wheel to the left, but during braking it makes the noise till i stop. Under accel it is not there. I have jacked the car up and the wheel spins freely,

Are your rotors warped at all? It kind of sounds like the pads are creaking against the calipers/brackets.

replaced the pads today. no luck!!! I will recheck the bolts but they did seem fine.

As stated before: they make noise during braking but if i turn the wheel to the right it stops momentarily.

While you were in there did you check your slidepins? Maybe they're dry or the bushing has shattered? The wheelbearing seemed ok right?

yes I removed the slide pins, and the bushins seemed okay. I lubed everything up. It may be the wheel bearing but there was no play..??

Take the rotor right off the hub and CLEAN that surface really well, including the inside of the brake rotor. (Drill with wire wheel or something like that)

I guarantee the noise will go away if you clean it well enough.

If you don't believe me, I've been through the same thing, on the same type of car (Maxima) and a good hub cleaning made the noise go away 100%.

Should only take you like half an hour to do it too.

I will do this in the morning!!!!! was your sound the same as the video? thanks so much!!

Can you give me more info on what you cleaned exactly.......

I did it and the noise is still there.

I took off the brakes and used a brillo pad to clean the hub area that contacts the brakes............... (used brake cleaner to wipe all the grime off)

Yes, the sound was identical to the noise in the video.. I was racking my brain over this noise forever.. exact same noise.

Took a high speed wire brush to the hub, and inside the brake rotor, and made sure the wheel was nice and tight. Sound was completely gone.

Have had this work on other brands of cars also!
