programing key on 99 se

whats up, hopefully you can help me.
a friend of mine bought a 99 se.
and he wanted a key fob.
now i had one and
i know how to program it, cause i did it on my se.
now what i have a hard time doing is inserting and removing the key 6 times within 10 seconds.

just like i did on my se.
what i ended up doing was removing the steering wheel cover on my se and plug and unplug the "key-in" sensor.

can i do that on the 99 4th gen's?

also if i have a oem 4th gen key fob could i use it to program any 4th gen that has the keyless entry module?

my understanding is that each remote has its own ID and when you program it into your car, you're just telling the car to obey that remote.

so you're not programming the remote, but rather the car and yes it works fine on my 99

Yes it will work, IIRC it involves unlocking and locking the car X amount of times in X seconds too. Check in the FSM, I've done it a few times (once after my battery died and once when I bought an extra fob). It took me a few tries to get it but it will eventually work.

what the hell are you talking about.

thanks for the advice.

now my next question is.
i was gonna remove the steering wheel cover, leave the key in the ignition unplug and plug the "key sensor" harness 6 times.

why you ask.
well like i said it was a ***** to do on my se and i tried to do it on his car too.
i got it once.
i tried to do it again (cause the 1st time i messed up) and it's been hard ever since.

so even though his key is chipped does it still have the "key-in" sensor like the 95-98 do?

I'm talking about improving your speed and agility son, you know... being able to insert and pull the key that about of times in x amount of time. You know you dont have to FULLY pull the key out right?

just think of it as sex, I've heard thats more of your department

haha that was good.
best advice i got here was sticking the chipped key under the column cowling so you can use a $1 copy key. that & after clearing all the check engine light i almost like driving this car now.

i think i can stick a key in and out 6 times within 10 seconds.
what it is as i said in my 1st first the dumb *** key sensor gets stuck either in the on position, so 1/2 of the time of doing this you can still hear the beep.
in my and his case you still can.

I'm sure that WD-40 is bad for locks anyway. I think that a graphite powder whats used for locks.
