Painting headlights for a 6.5

Alright, I have a lot of questions concerning painting the headlights. So, I removed both headlights and I'm trying to figure out how to disassemble them correctly. I've read a few threads that attempt to explain the process but it's only for 6th gen's.

I did however find a problem trying to take out the actual headlight and all the wires and stuff. The screws are a bit hard to get to and one of them is blocked off by some plastic piece, making it near impossible to unscrew it in my opinion.

Also, I've read not to remove the headlight adjusters.......what the hell is that? I don't wanna remove something that I wasn't supposed to touch in the first place.

Another question is, what is the proper temp for baking them in the oven. I've read 250, 225, and 200, which one is it? When I reseal them, do I need to use sealant? How would I do that in the first place, just hold them down or what and how long? Can I just screw them in and hope for the best? Last question is the plastic trim around the headlights......how do you take those off? I don't want to keep those intact and not have it melted in the oven.

preheat oven at 350 deg.
grab a wet towel place in oven and lay the headlight face down on wet towel.
let bake for good 3-5 min
take them out, and grab a flat head screwdriver and pry the headlight from the lens on the the top corner of the side where the side amber piece is located.
take out chrome housing and paint as you please.
as for putting it together, i just reused the glue thats already on the headlights.
i just pushed the lens back on the headlights then tossed them back in the over for a good 2 min. took them back out and applied pressure on the lens onto the headlights again. toss them back in the oven again for another 2 min then i put it back on the car. i haven't had any condensation problems for the past 1 1/2 years.
most would recommend to use silicone sealant on the headlights when you put it back together which is fine. i took a shot w/o the silicone with mine and it was fine.

Well, for some reason I can't post pics on this forum. Something's wrong with the image set up I guess.

You have a nice ride but still..........I'm not even allowed to have a sig according to regulations and what nots. Probably why I can't even post pics because it's not allowed according to my membership.

Do you need to take out the projector assembly before you put it in the oven? I tried but it won't fit through that hole in the back, which makes me believe you have to bake it first.

Wow, I almost forgot about this thread LOL. I've must've taken apart and re-painted my headlights like 4 times after that. But....

nope, you just leave it in there. At 250 in the oven, it isn't hot enough to hurt the projectors.
