Check the fuse on the amp?

What is cutting out in the interiors? The lighting? AC controls? Check the connections to the battery?

The interior speakers.
The fuse labeled Bose on the interior fuse panel - 15a- fuse is the one blowing
what is this fuses particular purpose
obviously I know when it blows I have no sound out of the speakers but is it tripped by the stock bose amps or what is up

600 for a new headunit with speakers? thats retarded!!! you can buy a headunit for 100 bucks at walmart add in 13 for the kit to install and another 10 for the harness, wire it all together and turn it on, if you still got no sound from speakers i suggest taking it to a repair shop because chances are you got some sort of electrical problem

well being that the stock speakers regardless are 13 years old and definitely not lets just say in there prime, I figured the car would already be in the shop so why not replace them.

I still just want to know the direct function or what the "BOSE" labeled fuse directly powers.

My guess is the Bose fuse drives all the amps for the Bose speakers, and you most likely are over driving the speakers and/or amps. The Bose speaker/amp combo is not meant for an internal amp head unit. This is typically why we have to replace everything when the HU is replaced. Power and resistance is very different w/ Bose systems than your normal aftermarket 4x40W HU.

I'm guessing your interior speakers were loud at low HU volume?

the speakers amps that drive the speakers and hu are all stock so I dont think I could over drive them. I just dont know why that fuse keeps blowing

and they were not any "louder at low hu volume" then any other time

ok so i got the whole thing apart in like 2 mins but i dont see any wires touching or loose etc. I will go get a new head unit right now, but from what MaxTank said that fuse that is blowing has to do with the bose amps. First is this true and second who thinks if i get the new hu and wire kit my problems will be solved??

im not going to bother reading anything posted above.

The steps you need to take are as follows.

1. Confirm the Fuse rating for the radio is correct, this is listed on the fuse panel door.

2. Try unplugging the Line Output Converter that sends the low level signal to your Amp.

3. Try unplugging Bose amps, 1 at a time see if anything changes.

4. If all else fails, try a new Bose Headunit.

5. Check Wiring. Yes, a PITA I Know.

The bose fuse is for the +12v power wire for the 4 bose amps. The radio staying on and the sub staying on tells me that your signal from the deck is fine. (must have caught the speaker level connection before the amp(s))While it could be a wiring problem it could also be that one or more of the bose amps is failing. They're old and they suck anyway. You can get a new radio and front/rear speakers for under $200. I wouldn't put one penny into the bose system.

Someone here recently posted instructions, or at least a parts list, for replacing the electrolytic capacitors in the Bose amps (1 at each speaker). It would only take one shorted capacitor to take out that fuse so like FallenOne suggested, isolate the amps by unplugging one at a time (or unplug all and plug them back in one at a time) until you find the one one that needs repair/replacing. If you know anything about soldering, they are not difficult to replace.
Personally, I have no issues with my Bose at all. I think it sounds better than your typical stock radio at this price level.

I am so terribly sick of people just saying throw 200$ at fixing a problem that can be fixed with little time and/or money!

If your just going to say buy new **** :matt93se:!

And for the record our 12 year old Bose Is Not That Bad!!! Just cause your headunit sucks doesn't mean the speakers suck!

LOW LEVEL OUTPUTS

AHHHH!

You're right, he can probably fix the problem for less than what new speakers and a radio would cost. I was an mecp installer for 7 years and I could troubleshoot the problem...but can he? My point is that if you have to pay someone to diagnose the bose system why not replace it instead? Even if you could fix it for relatively little money isn't new equipment with features like an ipod interface and bluetooth a better option? I have replaced enough bose systems over the years to formulate a pretty solid opinion that nissan/infiniti car audio systems suck. Just my opinion though...

loose speaker wire maybe?

well my max does not have the bose...nor did my altima but...i do remember one time on my way from PA to FLA all my speakers shorted and stopped working....drove halfway there and couldn't take it anymore......turned out one of the rear speaker wires was shorting ...and that knocked out every speaker in the car....again that was my altima . i would wiggle your wires through the trunk on the rears and see if you get anything ....good luck

mine did the same thing! about 3 months ago my bose just stopped working i put new fuse in and it worked for 2 hours and then blew again and i bought a pack of fuses and they all blew as soon as i turned over the key.

i gave up and spent $650 to have a pioneer cd deck installed all my speakers rewired so the bose can be bypassed and a 300 dollar amp to my two twelves.

let me tell you these front bose 6.5s and tweeters take some POWER! their from 95 and they jam chrystal clear compared to how my bose pushed it. 50wx4 stereo. 1000watt goin to subs.

How is this relevant?

Oh and By The Way.

Bose Speakers are Amplified at 1 Ohm.

So Sending a High level Signal at say 4 Ohms? Will just sound like total Azz by sending a high level signal to Low Level Inputs. Or a 1 Ohm Driver on 4 Ohm Speakers will either blow your headunit or your speakers due to under powering them or making your headunit run at 1 Ohm Nearly Doubling or even Quadrupling the Maximum output that the Headunit was made to withstand.

I can go all day.
