changed my steering rack...

I wanted to let you guys know that I changed my steering rack using Kevlo's write up but with some differences. I didn't remove Y-pipe or the cross member. All I did is disconnect the sway bar from both ends and then I lowered the sub-frame. Doing it this way made it harder to get to a couple of bolts but I did it (I had a friend help me). In fact the hardest thing was to get one 10mm little guy off. It's one that holds that little shield thing on the bottom-right right under the header shield.

My car is a 96 GLE and I got the 99 SE rack. The feel is so different now, it's like I have to learn again how to drive my own car. Steering is tight and very responsive. Also changed the sway bar end links, sway bar bushings, rack bushings, and outer tie rod ends. All the parts are MOOG or Nissan from the dealer. The rack I got from carsteering.com

I think all together it took us about 10hrs to do. But we took breaks and didn't push our selves too hard.
