Mickey Thompson ET Street P235/60/15

Hey all,

Want do you guys think about the Mickey Thompson ET Street P235/60/15 radials? I can get a set for fairly cheap on 15's but wanted to make sure they would be better then my Azenis rt 615 for drag purposes only. I'm not using them for street tires in any condition. I've searched and found 3 threads but those where on 17's and 18's. I don't have any experience with radials so any input would be much appreciated.

My best 60 was 2.3 at 25 psi on my Azenis (I was just spinning).

Thanks

Just get slicks. Radials aren't the greatest for FWD cars.

Slick recommendation? Can I get slicks on my stock 16's or should I get a lighter rim? I don't have a BBK.

You will want a 15" wheel. Then you will have pretty much unlimited sizing options.

24.5x8-15 would probably be a good size.
I don't know anything about your car though.
Have any specs?

Best 60 was a 2.064 using this same size tire, my clutch was not holding very good.
I think with a better clutch I can get a 1.9 or even a high 1.8 no problem, tire was not an issue.

I've cut 2.0 60ft's on street tires so a 1.9 is not worth the money in my book for track ONLY tires. If these were going to be used on the street from time to time also thats different but for track ONLY just get slicks.

plus those dr's don't have wrinkle wall

I paid 350us for my mickey thompson 235/60/15 drag radials, btw the gearing works out better with the 235/50/15 dr's

they will be at lot better than your Azenis, but not as good as slicks. I'd only run them if they are exceptionally cheap, otherwise I would be getting slicks instead. to me, if you are interested in the best ETs possible, it's not worth .2-.3 seconds to save only like $100. If you are saving $200 or more, i might consider it.

DRs definitely do behave differently on FWD cars than on RWD cars, just like krazy6 said. Slicks are much, much more effective in my experience on FWD cars. This is not always the case on RWD cars. RWD cars have weight transfer on their side, we don't.

1.9s are pretty good for DRs, they are not good for a max on slicks. No one in a max on DRs is coming close to what the guys who can really launch on a slick are doing. At least no one I've ever seen post.

I'll price out some slicks/rims. Then i'll let you guys know what the difference would be price wise. Any brand to aim for? some to avoid?

Running NT05Rs (275/40/17 on 350Z 17s) on a 130 shot and it's been holding wonderfully. Even at 32PSI on a cool 55 degree night, not a sign of spin. BTW this is on a VQ35.

LOL, I've done a 1.9 60' on DRs with my heavy *** 6th gen.
Maybe I should teach you how to launch.
If you think 1.9 60 foots are good, then by all means stick with a radial.

Thanks for knowing what you're talking about.
Radials will work the best on an auto RWD car.

+1

I'd like to know as well. Sounds like a pretty nice setup right there.
Too bad we can't fit 15" or 16" wheels on our cars. Slicks would be a big help.
