Replaced NGK plugs and car won't start!

Yesterday, I replaced the spark plugs. Initially, I purchased Bosch Platinum 2's. The car started once, but was shaking and sputtering. Then it shut off and would not start at all. On my previous thread, members advised me to return Bosch plugs and get NGK. So, I returned and replaced with NGK platinums. The car still won't start!! The engine is cranking but won't turn over. I've already double and triple checked all the sensors. I don't know what else to do!!! Help!!!!! (BTW, I didn't gap the plugs. Was I supposed to????)

Yeah you need to gap the plugs (.039 - .043) if you want the engine to run smooth. But it sounds like you have a bigger problem.
Good Luck

When you purchase the plugs, they usually come gapped already. You stated that you had this problem before changing the plugs. Do you have any codes? Is this the beginning of a tune-up that you have not done in a while?

The spark plug packaging should indicate the gap size the plugs are pre-gapped to. You can pull one out, and check it's gap, most likely they are all the same gap size.

Did you have this problem before you put the Bosch platinums in?

CEL?

The only thing I can think of is to double check that you reinstalled everything correctly. These cars don't have plug wires so no way of screwing up your firing order.

well, what happened was my bootleg mechanic broke the 3 little metal pieces from the MAF when removing it to replace starter a couple of weeks ago. We rigged the MAF and the car was running fine. BUT, even before that, my car had shut off on me at several stop lights. Anyway, someone told me that my spark plugs might be in need of replacement which may be causing the car to turn off at random. So, this is the reason why I changed the spark plugs. I decided to replace the MAF today thinking that may have been the issue all along but it still doesn't start!!! I am going to remove all of the spark plugs and reinstall them and make sure nothing is loose. Wish me luck!
