Limp Mode-P0732- Shift Solenoid Possible Fix.

http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...-mode-why.html
exhibiting some of the same symptoms as in this post. I copied the post from the all motor forum because its extremely similar, but ive also lost reverse on top of what im experiencing. No idea on where to begin...dont know whether i should just replace the tranny or if dropping reverse also falls in with the ecu that seemed to be his problem need some help man, this is my daily and cant afford to have it down. my wife works full time and my job *military* i dont come across too many down days. thanks for any help.

Symptoms:
-Idles fine
-Rev-limited to exactly 2,500 rpm
-Throttle limited to about 20%-35%, any more and appears to hit limiter, will pretty much maintain the 2500rpm and speed up from there but extreme loss of power
-Check Engine Light OFF
-No codes on my obdII scanner
-Fans High Speed ON all the time
-No pinging and obvious lack of power

What I've done:
-MAF Sensor has been cleaned, dont have another local to swap
-Ran an erase function on my obdII even though there were no codes to delete.
-Checked harness on ECU, but appears fine

currently i plan to get a tranny locally but if that isnt it, id like to go the most direct route. Any ideas?

This seems to be a complex problem in that you get no codes. That’s what perplexes me. Sounds like limp mode which is caused by a number of different items.

Perhaps try and fix just the solenoid and/or address P0732?

Dropped the pan, apparently reverse let go :/...

Was going with a car-parts.com tranny for 700 (56k) but autozone has a reman for 1100 with a 3 year unlimited mileage warranty. Ill be doing that with the edge racing 3k convertor if i can swing it. that and the hd2 kit thatll be transferred over should keep me halfway in the game for some time to come.

I figure since its a 400$ difference itll pay for itself if the junkyard one dies on me. appreciate the help bro.

Once it dropped the code i was hopeful that it had engaged gears 3 and 4 and the solenoid was stuck which would lockout 1,2,r. no such luck though. all good. should run alot better after the swap is complete.

You should have had the trans control unit scanned for codes first. Sometimes a trans fail safe can be fixed with a reflash, valve body, resistor, etc. But hope it works out for you
