thinking about buying a set of F/R rotors

Let's face it, my rotors are overdue.... I'm about to buy a new set. I'm not sure if I should go for something aftermarket, or just stay oem ( not sure, just because I don't want anymore rust). I saw these and I like the fact they're unique looking. They're somewhat pricey, what do you guys think? I saw on the group deal, a set of RTP rotors. But I just wanted to open this up to your opinion.

Those look good, but how long is that coating going to stay on those rotors?

I'm in the market for some new rotors and brake pads definitely with a zince coating because I tire of the rust too! I have no idea what to look for though because there are so many.

The coating will stay on until you use your brakes.

I replaced the rotors and pads on my Yukon with EBC slotted that were black zinc coated. The coating comes off the face of the rotor as soon as you hit the brakes for the first time (it seemed). They are still black everywhere else which will help with the rusting rotor otherwise. Just don't expect the face (where the pads grip) to stay black or coated.

Well, yeah, I know where the pad contacts the rotor will wear off right away, but I was worried about the rest of it. I hate when the rotors and stuff get surface rust. How long have you had that setup? Are you happy with it so far?

I went with Napa Premium with the painted black hats. After 1 year they still look new with no rust and no warping like the OEM's.

Rotorpros. Best rotors there are for the price. Can I get an AMEN?

Check em out. (www.rotorpros.net) The site is not much to look at but the rotors perform well and you get options for dimpled, drilled, and slotted or a comination of the three. I believe the guy I talked to was named Rick or Rich and he was very helpful. The price was great and I got them quickly. I think I paid a little over 200 for all 4.

Good Luck,

JB

DO NOT get rotorpros! I've had them and they were terrible! I can't knock on their customer service, but the products are horrible. I got ATL rotors from ebay and some other guys got Alien rotors from ebay too and I never had issues with mine and I havent heard any issues with Alien rotors.

Rond13 - I got my brake pads from Import in the group deal, it took 2days shipped from Cali to MA. Good luck!

I just got Alien brakes and PBR Ceramic pads from the GD here:

Love the brakes and the pads, and they all cost me just over $200...

I went with R1 d/s rotors and semi-metallic pads. Very happy with the combo.
