what to do first!? project or no?

SO i recently got a 99 Maxima in Gold, 118k miles, AUTO, and... pretty much thats it.

Main thing is that I got it for free. So ive been wondering to either make it to a project car or just drive it to the ground. ive done my tune up. changed my EGR and thats it. the car has alotta scuffs and dents but it was a chick driving the car b4 me so theres been real light accident on the quarter panels... MAINLY cosmetics

SO GUIDE ME HERE MAXIMA.ORG
tell me what to do. just drive it to the ground or trick it out! lmk what you would do. AND whether it be performance or cosmetics first

well heres my opinion if you plan on driving a max into the ground you should plan on having it for a very VERY long time. that being said get a nice quiet low cat back a k&n drop in and maybe some sounds (if your into that stuff) change your oil and just cruise i love my max its not "fast" but its defiantly not slow

Fix it up, it only has 118K and can easily last another 200K. It's gonna take a lot to drive it to the ground lol.

This is such a subjective question, how can we possibly answer this for YOU?

A well maintained Max will easily last 300k+, so the question of "tricking it out" is really up to you. Don't listen to us gearheads. Do what YOU want.

I agree with The Wizard nobody can tell you if you should or should not trick out your maxima you have to decide that on your own. The max has a lot of potential to put out some serious power but comes with a cost. The additional performance does put a lot more stress on the car. I advise against doing lots of performance if you want this as your daily driver. If you are just leaning on cosmetic then there not problem but then it makes the car look like an "all show no go" My opinion is dump ever red cent you have into performance but keep it as stock looking as possible because when those two door civics come farting up next to laughing at your family sedan you can smoke blow them off the line and leave them 10 car lengths back. But that's just me you do whatever you want.

Start off with an intake and maybe get it lowered with some decent rims.

Screw your friends, my friends down my car so much. They have no idea the potential a Maxima has. They think its some slow little 4 door thats old. No, wrong. Its a pure bread beast. Especially if you treat it right and do some mods.
