I changed the compressor some time ago and it still works perfectly, but the bearing in the compressor is really loud because of its age im guessing. I would hate to have to change the compressor and have the system flushed again for just a bearing.

2.44 in. (62 mm.) outside diameter x 1.57 in. (40 mm.) inside diameter.

This was my bearing size. But from what I read, there were 2 different compressors (bearing sizes) in 4th gens.

So you'll be able to change the bearing while it's on the car? Once you disconnect those hoses, you will have to have the system flushed again unfortunately.

Yea, i'm going to change the bearing while its on the car so that I don't have to remove the compressor from the system.

You can use a steering wheel puller to remove the clutch. Shouldn't bend or maim it that way. You got lucky getting one from a boneyard (and it not squeaking) - it's a risk, but sometimes it can work out.

There are two diff sizes - this is correct. IIRC, 95 - 96 they used a diff bearing than that of 97 - 99. All I can say on why is ...
