from what i've been told yes stock lines are still useable. 6th gen front brakes (calipers, caliper brackets, rotors, pads) are what are used for the BBK

I did.

You simply replace the calipers and rotors. It's a direct bolt-on however the rims might not clear the calipers. You might need spacers. I had stock 5.5 gen rims on mine and without the spacers they hit (barely) when hard cornering.

I used 06 calipers and brackets, no clearance issues with 5.5 gen 17's here.

04-08 brake upgrade will fit under stock 02-03 SE wheels. They will not clear the 00-01 SE 17" wheels, however.

unless you get at least a 5mm spacer. the 00-01 are +45 offset and i'm imagining the 02-03 wheels are +40, hence the possibilility for clearanc, hence the minimimum of 5mm spacer needed

Do not forget the caliper mounting bracket! Some junkyards quietly "forget" to send those, too, and most places get confused if you talk about just buying the bracket. You're looking for a semi-loaded caliper, as you already know and ordered.

The only thing I bought with my "BBK" were new pads, calipers and rotors. Everything else was fine.

So if I'm getting close to needing new front pads and rotors anyway, you're saying all I need to shell out money for "extra" is the front calipers from a 6th gen?

Well hell why doesn't everyone do that?

You need all 6th gen hardware... calipers, pads and rotors.

Sorry, Nmex, I should have clarified my question, I understood what you originally said. I was referring to buying 6th gen rotors and pads since I needed new rotors and pads anyway, and the only "extra" purchase would be the 6th gen calipers.

Yeah, this is what I'll be doing, when it comes time to do my front brakes.
