Still searching for oil filter"condom" to keep from making a mess during DIY change

Any brilliant ideas from the crowd? I've tried the suggested plastic bag over the frame that gets dumped on...tried aluminum foil and most recently tried a ziplock bag, but always end up still making somewhat of a mess. If I could just find something with some kind of a rubber band opening at the top that would seal all around that opening, then with some kind of bag on it, I could just seal that elastic part over the opening and then unscrew the filter, letting it fall in the bag. I would welcome any more creative ideas

Here's what I designed back when I was a lube tech. It's an Antifreeze bottle.

Cut it exactly the same way, it will slip up in between the sub-frame and the oil pan just touching the side of the filter leaving enough room to grab and unscrew the filter.

When you loosen the filter, the oil will drain down out of the the lid hole into your oil drain pan leaving no mess on your sub frame.

Install your new filter, slide it out and wipe the excess oil just under the filter.

your changing your oil too fast, on my 6th which is probably identical to the 7th, I could easily change the oil without making a mess

When I posted the issue of oil spills due to the oil filter, someone suggested to install an oil filter re-location kit.

This weekend I did my first oil change with Mobile1, I pulled the wheel off and removed the one plastic cover, used a peice of cardboard, shaped it, didnt get one drop anywhere but the collection pan.

OK..just so I can be sure I understand....once you fashion your drain device, which direction do you drain the oil from the oil filter spout....towards the passenger side or the driver's side?

Passenger Side, the oil filter is right behind the passenger side wheel.

yeah, i knew where the filter was, just wanted to make sure i was clear on which direction you had the oil draining...whether it was draining the same side as the filter sticks out, or if it was draining back the other way. i haven't been going to the trouble of taking the wheel off or taking that plastic guard completely off...have just been undo'ing the bottom pushpin of that guard and working my way in there...that's probably part of my problem...I should probably just pull the wheel and take that guard completely off to give myself more room.

I just shaped the cardboard toward the tire (which was off) over the frame, right into the pan
