2009-2011 VQ35DE SWAP?

I have a 98 Maxima SE. Will a 2009-2011 VQ35DE fit in my car or does it have to be a 2003-2008? I know that the 7th gen maxima VQ35DE motors have 290 HP, correct me if I'm wrong. Also, if the engine can fit, is it the same installation process like the other VQ35DE swaps such as timing chain, etc.?

i dont like when a person ask a question, and all ppl say is "search"

instead of saying search, why not give the OP a link of a awnser to their question.. would seem much better. everyone will be happy

First question, yes.

Second question, no.

And yes the information is on here in the 4th gen section, this has been discussed at least once this year.

If you're asking a question like that you have a lot more reading to do on VQ35 swaps (which is the reason why for the flames)

To make your life easier, just get a 02-06 VQ35DE motor, hybrid swap it, call it a day.

Also, I don't wanna get a 03-05 VQ35DE engine because I've done my research and these engines tend to have oil leak problems and other maintenance issues. I wanna get more bang for my buck, so I'm gonna get me a 2010 VQ35DE engine.

Eh..... But... nvm...

More power to you if you sucessfully do the swap, just saying to get MOST of the extra power you will have to do a FULL VQ35DE swap (this only pertains to the 09+ VQ35s of course).

/spoonfeeding.

The 09+ Max swap = 07+ Altima VQ.

I have heard/seen this done I think maybe twice. It has better heads and a better IM. IIRC the crank sensor is in a different location on the tranny side so that might take a lil bit of extra work.
The timing swapping should be exactly the same. These engines have upgraded heads/pistons/rings so if I ever do the swap, I will use the 07+Altima VQ/09+ Max VQ

So I did a search and found the answer to your questions. There are other sections of the org other than the 4th gen section FYI.

Edit: just read the link, awesome-sauce... time to re-think my VQ35 swap YET AGAIN.
