K&N Cone filter Clean O' Rama

After cleaning the K&N cone filter with the K&N cleaning kit how long should I wait until putting the filter back on? It seems somewhat wet so should I let it dry for a while before reinstalling?

you should wait until it is completely dry, they don't suggest using artificial means of drying, and then re-oiling it before reinstalling it.

I let it sit overnight before installing it.

..a followup question..

How often do the K&N filters (on a CAI) need to be cleaned/replaced?

I got my CAI installed about 8 months ago...I haven't cleaned it once yet. Is this okay?
