Calling all Maximas with a full size spare - step inside!
Hey guys,
I'm sure many of you have seen the product that I've developed - the spare tire cover.
When I first developed them I made them for those with tiny donut-sized spare tires only.
Well, I have recently noticed that I may be able to develop a version for those with the larger sized donut, also known as a full sized spare!!
Need your help. Measurements and pictures!!
I need to know if, when your full sized spare is sitting in the wheel well, if the top of it protrudes past the trunk floor or not.
And if it doesn't, I need the measurement from the trunk floor down to the center 'hub' of the wheel. Easiest way to do this is to get either a level or piece of wood, lay it across the trunk floor straddling the wheel well, and measure with a tape downwards to the spare tire.
If this works out, I will be offering a real nice steep discount to those who purchase the first batch of spare tire covers designed specifically for those with a full sized spare!
Any questions, post or PM, I'm very responsive.
And if you're local to Central NJ, even better. Come on by my place and I'll take some measurements and do some test fitting right on the spot
Thanks everyone! I'm looking forward to bringing another product to the Maxima community!

I've got one of my 17" SE rims packed in my trunk as a spare, and I know it sits well past the top of the spare compartment. I want to say nearly 3-4".
I can get measurements in a little while when it warms up.
Edit:
Just checked. A stock 5.5 17" rim with stock tire size (225/55R17) sticks up approximately 2-2.5" all the way around.

Well, not technically full size spare, but there are two different sized donuts. My board fits the smaller one, I'm concerned with the larger one now. It's really just a matter of a height differential.
